The common thread
My professional work has changed over time, but teaching remains central to how I work. I help people understand practical skills and complex ideas well enough to use them with confidence.
That instinct connects my years in education with technology, consulting, AI, cybersecurity, business systems, tutoring, and fly casting.
Some programs are designed for one person. Others are built for a business, club, association, or community group. Classes may be created around local interest; the topics below are possibilities, not a published schedule.
Learning track 01
Practical, nontechnical classes for seniors, retirees, adults, parents, professionals, curious beginners, and anyone who wants to feel more confident with modern technology.
We can use familiar interests—travel, recipes, research, writing, organization, genealogy, fishing, gardening, photography, or learning a new subject—to make AI useful and understandable.
Safety belongs in the same conversation: scam recognition, phishing, passwords, account security, deepfakes, privacy, and knowing when not to trust an answer.
Learning track 02
Short, practical Sarasota classes that help owners understand what matters, ask better questions, and take useful action—without turning the room into a sales pitch.
Learning track 03
Private talks, demonstrations, and custom programs shaped around the people in the room and the questions they actually have.
Organizations can request a custom AI, cybersecurity, technology, visibility, or community-learning program based on their interests.

Limited Sarasota tutoring for upper-elementary students, with fifth-grade math as a particular strength.

After approximately fifteen years in education, I keep this work deliberately small so I can understand the student, communicate with parents, and adjust instruction to the learner in front of me.
My classroom background includes upper-elementary education, curriculum development, reading, ESE, supporting different learners, parent communication, instruction, and coaching.

Whether you are preparing for trout out West or trying to dial in your cast before a bonefishing trip to Belize, I can help you work on the fundamentals that matter.
I am a Fly Fishers International Certified Casting Instructor (CI) and have worked in extraordinary fly-fishing environments from Alaska to Belize.
I also built and ran a fly-fishing program at Camp Kawanhee, including curriculum, equipment, and a rod-building program where boys learned to build their own fly rods.
When I am not working on a computer, I would usually rather be teaching someone to cast or actually fishing.

I work with a deliberately limited number of upper-elementary students in Sarasota—approximately ten per year. Fifth-grade math is a particular strength, alongside organization, planning, study routines, assignment management, reading support where appropriate, and executive-function skills.
Yes. The introductory one-hour lesson is free, and all experience levels are welcome. I am a Fly Fishers International Certified Casting Instructor.
Yes. Instruction can focus on trout-trip preparation, saltwater or bonefishing preparation, casting tune-ups, small groups, private clubs, country clubs, community demonstrations, or fly-fishing talks. This is instruction and education, not guiding or outfitting.
